Summer camp season is around the corner. With Mr. 8 going to a week-long camp this summer, I know all too well that early registration is imperative.
We actually missed the early bird deadline in February. Yep!
Signing up for summer camp in February did not even cross my mind. I waited until March to start looking, and ended up paying $30 more for him because we missed the deadline. Oh well, I will be better prepared next winter for this early deadline. 🙂
Though registration is not yet open, I wanted to put on your radar Apple’s FREE 3-day summer camp for kids, ages 8-12. Each Apple store chooses the dates for their camps. Last year, our local store offered 12 weeks of camp which started on July 15 and ended on August 3.
Campers had a choice of one of two camp weeks:
- Option 1: Monday, Tuesday, and Saturday
- Option 2: Wednesday, Thursday, and Saturday
Each camp day was 1.5 hours with instructions for creating a storyboard, soundtrack, and movie. Each participant had to provide his own:
- MAC computer
- Digital camera/video camera
- Earphones
Space is very limited, and participants are limited to one Apple camp per summer. If you have an interested child, who meets the age requirements, then signup for e-mail notification when registration opens.
If you need the available dates to schedule your summer, then check with your local store to verify their participation. Hopefully, the representative can let you know when their camps are scheduled and a tentative date for the registration opening.
Summer is around the corner. If you have an aspiring filmmaker or a technology-loving child, then check out Apple’s FREE 3-day summer camp for kids, ages 8-12. Happy scheduling!
