If you enjoy McAlister’s Deli’s iced tea, then mark your calendar for Thursday, July 24, 2014.

FREE Tea Day is a once-a-year event at McAlister’s Deli.

On FREE Tea Day, our local McAlister’s Deli has a separate tea line, so customers do not need to stand in the ordering line for their tea. In using time wisely, this line helps one get a FREE tea right away.

I love iced tea!

However, I’m not wild about McAlister’s Deli’s tea. Sorry! I guess I just really like my tea sweet.

My favorite sweet tea locations are Chick-fil-A, McDonald’s, and Cracker Barrel as they serve sweet tea.

Whether you like your tea strong, light, sweet, or unsweetened, McAlister’s Deli will gladly serve you their tea on Thursday, July 24, 2014. Happy tea day!

IHOP: Short Stack for 56¢ - July 8, 2014

On Tuesday, July 8, 2014, participating IHOP locations will celebrate IHOP’s 56th birthday by offering guests a special deal.

A short stack of their world famous buttermilk pancakes will sell for 56¢ from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

This offer is only available at participating locations, so call ahead to verify participation.

With strawberry, blueberry, butter pecan, and maple syrups on each table, we enjoy trying each type.

For our family of 5 with little ones, we pile all our pancakes on a napkin (I know a plate would be better, but the staff is usually really busy for these events). We then eat one at a time with the syrup of our choice.

By the end of our meal, we usually end up with full tummies and leftovers. If we have a participating location nearby, then we will get a family outing with short stacks for 56¢ on Tuesday, July 8, 2014. Happy planning!

Stretching out these long summer days, AMC’s Summer Movies provide an affordable activity for winding down the evening.

With 100% of the proceeds going to charity, AMC’s promotion benefits the Will Rogers Institute and the Autism Society of America.

AMC’s summer movies show every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday ONLY at the 9:30 p.m showing.

For the 9:30 p.m. showing only, the cost is $3 per ticket.

The schedule for AMC’s Summer Movies is as follows:

July 7-9: Non-Stop (PG-13)

Though I am not a coffee drinker, I hear that Dunkin’ Donuts makes good coffee.

For our date night, Paul and I headed to a local Chick-fil-A, without a playground, for dinner and conversation.

We used our May calendar card deal where we both chose the new Chick-fil-A grilled market salad.

This entrée included blueberries, strawberries, apples, and feta cheese on a bed of lettuce topped with grilled strips of chicken. We also received packets of granola and nuts for extra seasoning.

We both liked our FREE entrée salad. I can also recommend the Chick-fil-A Cobb salad as I snagged one with another calendar card earlier this month.

My Cobb salad included tomatoes, corn, bacon, cheddar cheese, diced eggs, and carrots on a bed of lettuce. A packet of crispy red bell peppers gave the salad a pop of flavor.
