National Parks: FREE-Entrance Days in 2013

Weekend Activities for January 18-20, 2014Coming off a week where Miss 6 has been struggling with a fever for the past 2 days, I am glad to have everyone home to get some rest this weekend.

Though we are limiting our outings, some of the available weekend activities for January 18-20, 2014, include the following:

During the month of January, Subway has many footlong sandwiches priced at $5 each.

Included in this deal are the better-for-you and the super-stacked subs but excludes premium and supreme subs. This offer continues through January 31, 2014.

With 21 choices ranging from breakfast to dinner options, Subway is a great option, especially when it’s cold and you find your water pipes frozen. 😉

As the chill sets in and schedules pick up, these $5 Subway sandwiches might help you survive an emergency, needed break, or lunch with a friend without spending full price to feed yourself, your family, or a friend.

Happy JanuANY month!

Activities for Saturday, January 4, 2014

Activities for Saturday, January 4, 2014If your children are going stir crazy during this Christmas break, then you are not alone. A winter storm is headed our way, and the chill has already arrived.

My children are running through the house and getting a little too rough with each other. Looking for an outlet this weekend, I’m considering one of the following activities:

Home Depot: FREE Desk Calendar

On the first Saturday of every month, Home Depot hosts a FREE Kids’ Workshop. At the workshop, each child is given the monthly kit to build and keep, a FREE Kids’ Workshop apron, a FREE commemorative pin for that project which can be pinned onto his apron, and a FREE certificate of achievement.

The January project is scheduled for Saturday, January 4, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon) at Home Depot locations. The project is a desk calendar to keep our children organized this coming year.

Lakeshore Learning Store: FREE Party Mask

Each Saturday, Lakeshore Learning Stores offer a FREE craft project from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at participating locations. It’s a celebration party mask is the FREE project for Saturday, January 4, 2014. The crafts change each week for children ages 3 and up with no reservations necessary.

Michaels: $2 Knickknack Keychain

On January 4, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., participating Michaels Craft Stores will reserve 30 minutes for your child to make a knickknack keychain at a cost of $2 per project. Kids Club reservations are required and recommended for children ages 3 and up.

These three activities for Saturday, January 4, 2014, are offered for children but make a great family event at an unbeatable price. If you are looking for other family weekend events, check Using Time Wisely’s event page. While you are there, you should “like” the Using Time Wisely page to stay updated.

Enjoy your weekend using time wisely with those you love. Happy planning!

Question: Does your family attend these types of activities?

During the month of December, Subway will offer two of their 6” sandwiches for $2 in honor of Customer Appreciation month.

Customer Appreciation Month

The two 6” sandwiches are the meatball marinara and the cold cut combo. This event continues until December 31, 2013.

12 Days of Thanks Sweepstakes

In addition to the Customer Appreciation Month offer, Subway is running a 12 Days of Thanks sweepstakes whereby customers can win Subway gift cards. The sweepstakes offer ends on December 12, 2013.

As schedules get busy and time constraints tight, a $2 sandwich could be your ticket to feeding your family while using time wisely.

Happy Customer Appreciation Month!

During the month of September, Subway will offer many of their footlong sandwiches for $5. Termed Subtember, this event runs from September 1 – 30, 2013.

Though school is just starting, I like to have options for field trips, hurried nights, long errand days, surprise lunch visits, and just for fun outings.

With numerous Subway restaurants in our area, I may take Subway up on their Subtember deal.

If the weather cools off a bit, this deal is good enough for a family picnic in the park or a gathering with family and friends to watch a good football game.

Happy Subtember!
