Are you going to rise and shine for all those crazy Black Friday deals? If so, APlus Sunoco locations will grant a FREE 16 oz. coffee to those who redeem this coupon on Friday, November 29, 2013.

This deal is limited to APlus Sunoco stations. Please check this store and gas station locator to find a participating APlus Sunoco near you. Just select APlus under “refine search by” to find the right location.

If you have an APlus Sunoco nearby and plan to visit, then print this coupon for your FREE coffee. The limit is one per customer, while supplies last.

Oh, I remember those cold mornings all too well – as Paul and I waited for the store to open to snag some amazing electronic devices.

Though we don’t drink coffee, a warm beverage was just the ticket to melt the chill. Hope you stay healthy while stretching your hard earned dollars. Enjoy!

Happy Black Friday!

Special thanks to Amanda for sharing this deal via e-mail!

Question: If you know of other deals, please let me know via Facebook or e-mail (usingtimewisely (at) gmail (dot) com).

ABC Family: Countdown and 25 Days of Christmas

November 15, 2013 by Tracy

Our family enjoys winding down watching a holiday movie. We snuggled together to see “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown” on Halloween night and “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” on Thanksgiving evening.

Though we enjoy other holiday movies other than Charlie Brown, we like the short episodes that keep little one’s attention.

To kickoff the Christmas season, ABC Family has scheduled a Countdown and 25 Days of Christmas programming list. Though we won’t catch most of these holiday movies, we can find our favorites and plan a movie night complete with popcorn near the lights of the Christmas tree. Enjoy choosing your favorites!

Happy November! Not sure where this year has gone, but we are seizing these moments before 2013 passes us by.

If you are looking for a fun activity for this weekend, then consider stopping by your local Home Depot.

On the first Saturday of every month, Home Depot hosts a free Kids’ Workshop.

At the workshop, each child is given the monthly kit to build and keep, a free Kids’ Workshop apron, a commemorative pin for that project which can be pinned onto his apron, and a certificate of achievement.

The November project has a nautical theme.

What: Tabletop Ship

When: Saturday, November 2, 2013

Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (noon)

Where: Your local Home Depot store

These workshops offer enjoyable family time at an unbeatable price. If you are looking for other family weekend events, check Using Time Wisely’s event page for other options. While you are there, “like” the page to stay updated.

Enjoy your weekend while spending time with those you love. Happy planning!

Question: Does your family enjoy these free workshops?

2013: Happy Halloween!

October 31, 2013 by Tracy

2013: Happy Halloween!
2013: Happy Halloween!

Time to put on those costumes and have some fun! My children went reverse trick-or-treating yesterday at Paul’s office. The goal is to help our children practice the art of giving. However, they seem to come back with as much or more candy than we started.

Today, my children are ready to attend two events, head out into our neighborhood, and complete the evening snuggled into my bed watching It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Sometime in there, we will complete homework.

In working ahead, my children have planned for today’s events by completing assignments early or using earned coupons for today’s homework. I was so proud of them both for working on the material needed to master the information for their tests on Friday. Both of them worked hard to alleviate the homework load today.

If you are seeking some FREE or inexpensive Halloween options, then consider these options for a safe and sweet Halloween:

  • Grocery stores
  • Libraries
  • Mall
  • Bookstores
  • Home Improvement stores
  • Restaurants

Jenny Martin over on Southern Savers put together this great list of FREE or inexpensive Halloween dining offers. In addition to her list, I would add the discounts at Stevi B’s, Fuddruckers, and Olive Garden.

  • Church groups
  • Jump zones
  • Truck-or-Treats
  • Your own neighborhood

Though I don’t usually get dressed up, I will come up with a costume to snag a FREE Krispy Kreme Doughnut. If we had an APlus Sunoco nearby, we would accept their FREE candy bars.

My little princesses and Greek warrior Ajax will be on the prowl along with all the other little super heroes and characters. Please remember to drive extra carefully this evening and watch out for all little ones making memories. Though parents will be about, children do cut across streets without looking. If we all are a little bit more careful and aware, we might prevent a disaster from occurring.

For those of you who do not celebrate Halloween, I wish you a blessed Reformation Day! 🙂

If you are joining our family in this season of candy and treats, then have a great evening making memories, capturing smiles, and using time wisely with family, friends, and neighbors.

Happy Halloween!

Question: What is your favorite candy to give or receive?
