I Know That My Redeemer Lives

Words by Charles Wesley and

music by George F. Handel

I know that my Redeemer lives;
What comfort this sweet sentence gives!
He lives, He lives, who once was dead;
He lives, my ever living Head.

He lives to bless me with His love,
He lives to plead for me above.
He lives my hungry soul to feed,
He lives to help in time of need.

He lives triumphant from the grave,
He lives eternally to save,
He lives all glorious in the sky,
He lives exalted there on high.

He lives to grant me rich supply,
He lives to guide me with His eye,
He lives to comfort me when faint,
He lives to hear my soul’s complaint.

He lives to silence all my fears,
He lives to wipe away my tears
He lives to calm my troubled heart,
He lives all blessings to impart.

He lives, my kind, wise, heavenly Friend,
He lives and loves me to the end;
He lives, and while He lives, I’ll sing;
He lives, my Prophet, Priest, and King.

He lives and grants me daily breath;
He lives, and I shall conquer death:
He lives my mansion to prepare;
He lives to bring me safely there.

He lives, all glory to His Name!
He lives, my Jesus, still the same.
Oh, the sweet joy this sentence gives,
I know that my Redeemer lives!

He is Risen . . . He is Risen Indeed.

Happy Easter!

2013: Happy First Day of Spring!

Over the weekend, we received a taste of spring. The sun was out, the temperatures were in the low 70’s, and the birds were a-fluttering.

Opening the windows for a few hours was refreshing as I began my spring cleaning, and my children enjoyed spending time at the park with Daddy. 😀

Though the weather pattern has changed to much colder temperatures this week, spring is here and more beautiful days are coming.

In celebrating spring’s arrival, a few businesses are offering these free or discounted options:

  • Rita’s – Free Italian Ice – March 20, 2013
  • Fazoli’s – Free kid’s meal with purchase of adult entree – March 21, 2013
  • 7-Eleven – Any size coffee for $1 on Wednesdays in March – March 20 and 27, 2013

Whether or not you participate in these promotions, spring is here. On our family’s spring calendar, we will plant our garden, celebrate birthdays, and enjoy getting outside to play and explore. For those of you still in the deep freeze, hang in there. Spring is on its way. 🙂

Happy first day of spring!

2013: Happy St. Patrick’s Day

March 17, 2013 by Tracy

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Before my family went to bed, they each put on their green.

Because they knew when they wake up, St. Patrick’s Day it’ll be.

As the above lines are about as much poetry as I write, I wish you all a very green, lucky, and pinch-free day. ~ Tracy

I’ll Wear a Shamrock

St. Patrick’s Day is with us,
The day when all that’s seen
To right and left and everywhere
Is green, green, green!

And Irish tunes they whistle
And Irish songs they sing,
Today each Irish lad walks out
As proud as any king.

I’ll wear a four-leaf shamrock
In my coat, the glad day through,
For my father and mother are Irish
And I am Irish too!

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

2013: Daylight Savings Time – Spring Forward

Officially, at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2013, Daylight Savings Time begins. Since I do not plan to wait for the big moment, our family adjusted our clocks before going to bed on Saturday night.

In celebration of Daylight Savings Time, our family will stop by our participating Krispy Kreme Doughnuts for our free original glazed doughnut. I hope they are hot and ready when we arrive. 😉

Though you are losing an hour, choose to work smarter rather than harder in using time wisely. You can then accomplish more in less time.

Happy Daylight Savings Time!

2013: Happy President’s Day!

Originally established to celebrate George Washington’s birthday, President’s Day has evolved into one big celebration for all our United States Presidents. Celebrated on the third Monday in February, President’s Day is now a federal holiday.

With the day off, our family is planning to accomplish some housekeeping items. We are also going to read a little more as February is a shorter month for my kids to reach their reading goals.

Enjoy your day off celebrating our Presidents, who were allowed to run our country according to God’s perfect plan. For a few President’s Day activities, check out Kaboose. The powdered wig cracks me up. Keep using time wisely as you enjoy today.

Happy President’s Day!
