Balloons, cake, and presents, oh my! Birthday celebrations offer opportunities for giggles, excitement, and anticipation.
To sweeten the birthday recipient’s experience, many businesses and organizations send their birthday wishes in the form of freebies and discounts.
During the month of April, I will begin sharing at least one birthday freebie or discount for food every day. Each post will highlight the organization, link to the website, and give any instructions for receiving your treat.

My youngest daughter loves the idea of the 3” cookies in the case at Panera Bread. My picky three-year-old picks off or licks off the icing leaving the cookie. 😉
When I meet up with a friend, Panera Bread is a halfway point for us both. So, the cookie entertainment keeps my daughter occupied while my friend and I catch up on family, personal growth, and life.
Offering a FREE surprise which is usually a pastry for your birthday, Panera Bread requires a little work for your freebie. Besides having a birthday, you will need the following to get your FREE treat:
- MyPanera Card – obtained at your local Panera Bread location. Just ask an associate while at the restaurant.
- Receive rewards loaded on your card from time to time. To see what rewards are available, you can check the status on Panera Bread’s website.
Since a reward will load immediately after you register your card, consider getting a MyPanera card before you plan to visit. This way, when you visit, you can use your reward as these promotions expire 90 days from the date issued.
As you visit Panera Bread, swipe your card at checkout. Per Panera Bread’s website, your card will track your favorite menu items to offer you rewards geared to your liking.
TIP: In registering your FREE MyPanera card, you will receive correspondence periodically by e-mail.
