Balloons, cake, and presents, oh my! Birthday celebrations offer opportunities for giggles, excitement, and anticipation.
To sweeten the birthday recipient’s experience, many businesses and organizations send their birthday wishes in the form of freebies and discounts.
During the month of April, I will begin sharing at least one birthday freebie or discount for food every day. Each post will highlight the organization, link to the website, and give any instructions for receiving your treat.
To receive a daily e-mail around 11:00 a.m. with the new posts of each day, subscribe to my free daily newsletter. In case you miss a post in our Birthday Freebies and Discounts series, I will provide the link to each day as the month progresses.
If you have received any of these freebies or discounts, then please share in the comments about your experiences as I love to learn from you. Now, let’s continue this birthday celebration!

Day 30: Drink – Starbucks
Since I have never visited a Starbucks, I did a little research on this FREE birthday drink. For those of you who love Starbucks, feel free to jump in with any tips and tricks to earning rewards.
Starbucks has a rewards program which requires purchasing a gift card and registering it on-line. To get the FREE birthday drink, you must purchase and register your card at least 30 days prior to your birthday.
You will receive notification of your FREE birthday drink and once loaded to your card, the offer expires in 30 days.
TIP: In registering your Starbucks card, you will receive correspondence periodically by e-mail.
To keep your personal inbox clutter-free, choose a free e-mail account via Yahoo! or Gmail when signing up for all these freebies and discounts.
The minimum purchase of a gift card is $5. When you use up your gift card, then you will lose your rewards. Also, you earn rewards when you purchase drinks using your card. The Starbucks gift cards can be reloaded either in-store or on-line.
If you are a regular Starbucks goer or even a casual one, you may enjoy the benefits to the My Starbucks Reward loyalty program which includes a FREE birthday drink and three levels of rewards:
- Welcome
- Green
- Gold
Though you need to purchase a gift card to receive the FREE birthday drink, you might find the investment worth your time and energy depending on how often you visit a Starbucks.
I hesitated posting this FREE drink offer since I did not want to encourage anyone to spend money for the FREE drink. In using time wisely, I am bypassing this FREE drink option as my family does not visit Starbucks. Yes, it’s possible to live without going to Starbucks. 😉 Happy freebie gathering!
Question: Do you find the Starbucks Reward program worth the money, time, and energy?
