Another great drugstore is Walgreens. At one point, Walgreens had so many savings strategies that I preferred their program over CVS. However, the restrictions have increased, so I dabble at Walgreens. I have a Balance Rewards card to earn points as I shop.
I don’t have many points as I usually run in when milk is on sale or for a free photo deal. However, I am considering signing up for Steps. This Walgreens program rewards members for taking steps toward a healthy lifestyle.
Points are rewarded for the following:
- 250 points = log your first goal
- 20 points = for each mile run or walked
- 20 points = when you track your weight
The points can then be redeemed as you shop at Walgreens.
- $5 = 5,000 points
- $10 = 10,000 points
- $20 = 18,000 points
- $35 = 30,000 points
- $50 = 40,000 points
If you routinely walk or run, you can earn points toward your next Walgreen’s purchase by taking a few minutes to sign up and then log your exercise. In using time wisely, combine your fitness with your savings for a great return on your investment. Happy savings!

Yes, James! Walgreen’s Steps with Balance Rewards replaced Walk with Walgreens. It is another reward program offered through Walgreens similar to saving with rebates or Register Rewards (RR). I found this page helpful to answering more specific questions – like yours.
Great question, James. Thanks for reading and commenting. Appreciate it!
