Baby, it’s cold outside! Though our temperatures are in the high 30’s, we are getting lots of rain. We definitely need it, and some of you are getting more than your share of snow.
In our home, we are staying inside as much as possible. With this blessing, I am working to maximize my time and energy while at home.
Since I typically soak our soiled laundry in our mud sink located in the garage, I chose another option last week as I did not want to work in the cold.
With a deep white kitchen sink, I decided to soak the clothes inside. I filled one side with hot water and added a scoop of Oxiclean. Then I added the stained clothes, and let them soak.
In a few hours, I retrieved the clothes and drained the lukewarm water. And what to my wondering eyes should appear, but a sparkling clean white sink. Requiring no scrubbing, my laundry and white kitchen sink were free from stains. Yay!
Finding another way to clean the black marks from my white kitchen sink makes my heart sing. In addition to solving two duties with one action, it requires no additional effort or scrubbing from me. 🙂
Though I will eventually return to soaking our clothes in the mud sink, I am enjoying these benefits:
- Warm, inside option verses a cold, damp garage
- Short soaking times as I needed my kitchen sink
- Stain-free clothes
- Sparkling white kitchen sink
Though I’m not always successful at combining responsibilities, I love when it happens, and I discover new ways to save energy and time. As you continue serving your family, try different ways to accomplish the same task. Some experiments fail while others will offer a grand reward.
With a little change of pace out of convenience, I found a great way to clean my sink while removing stains from our clothes. Now, I’m wondering what other gems are available if I try something new. Happy experimenting!
